Tahiti — Part 3 — Bora Bora Paradise

Before I tell you more about my Tahiti trip, I would like to talk about something else.

Many years ago, the idea of going to Tahiti was just a dream. I’ll have to tell you later more about how that dream became reality — which is the process of making it happen — but for now, let me just say that making your dreams come true isn’t as hard as you might imagine.

One thing I came to realize recently, and I’m going to talk about this more in my course this summer on “How to Make a Living With Your Passion — Without Getting a Job” — is that the world has changed so much in the last few years that whatever we learned in school — even if it was just 4 or 5 years ago, let alone 20 years ago — about making a living and creating the lifestyle that you want — is no longer valid!

Tahiti — Part 2

So how did I end up in Tahiti? Before I answer that question, let me tell you a little more about my experience there.

There’s different ways to get to French Polynesia. I chose to fly from Montreal to Honolulu (with one connecting flight in Vancouver), where I spent 2 nights, and then fly from Honolulu to Papeete in Tahiti.

The Tahiti Joke... coming true (part 1)

Img_0049_1Since I decided to fast 23 days on water in Costa Rica in January 2005: things have been manifesting like crazy, in fact, my whole life has unfolded at a fast pace in the most amazing way

But I don’t believe in things happening for no reason. In fact, I know exactly why I’ve been able to manifest all these things in my life. I know the exact process that took place and I will show it to you soon.

But for now, I just want to share one of these cool manifestations.

I just came back from what most people would consider the trip of a lifetime: 2 weeks in French Polynesia in the South Pacific with my buddy Andrew, visiting enchanting and magical islands with names that have made many dream of escaping to paradise: Tahiti, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, Moorea, and Huahine.

My Trip to Bali... ask me any question!

My Trip to Bali

In December, 2005, I traveled to the island of Bali for about 4 weeks. I’ve been wanting to write about this trip for a while, because Bali made such a profound impact on me!

I’ve done my share of traveling to “sunny places” before. I’ve been twice to Costa Rica, where I spent a total of 4 months, I spent a month in Brazil, I’ve been to Spain a few times, to Italy once, and Southern France twice.

Each year, I go to a different place to escape from the brutal cold of my Canadian hometown, and possibly also enjoy some ripe tropical fruit. This year, I’ve wanted to do something totally different and go to a place where some of my favorite fruits grow: jackfruit, durian, mangosteens, and other delicious Asian treats.

So I decided to spend one month in Bali, and I must say this has been the best vacation of my life!

I’m back (to the land of snow)

OK, I’m now back to Canada. I’ve started writing an article about my trip to Bali. Let me just say that it’s been the best trip of my life, and that I’m looking forward to go back next year for a much longer stay. I’ve discovered my paradise...

Update... Scuba Diving Controversy

I have Internet access again, so I can write a few words, but that probably will be the last thing I post on the Blog until I can write about my whole trip and post it as one long post.

I was out in the countryside, visited many places and spent time with Balinese people, getting to know the culture. It was great!

While I was away there has been quite a controversy around a sale we did on my website, called “the Scuba Diving Sale” — where the idea was to raise enough money to send me on a Scuba Diving Trip.

Now, I don’t know what the controversy was about, but I think many people have either no sense of humor whatsover, or their sense of humor is so foreign to mine that this whole thing just seemed “SO SERIOUS.”

Come on folks, every business does occasional “sales” once in a while. Christmas sales, Halloween sales, etc. Why not be original. The owner of the business gets to spend the money on whatever she wants -- so I’m just telling you upfront what I’ll be spending the money on!

My business helps a lot of people. Heck, some people think I shouldn’t be paid for that. Well, that’s something I don’t quite understand (if you’re a banker, it’s okay to make money, but if you help people, it’s not?!).

We’re spending big money to print all of our mass-market books on 100% recycled paper, so no trees are cut. I don’t know any other “raw-food” business that does that.

Anyway, I did go on a diving trip. It was amazing! Off the shore of North Bali in Pemuteran is one of the best diving sites in the whole world. Check it out on the Internet.

Many thanks for all of my readers who supported us with the Scuba Sale, and to all of those with a sense of humor similar to mine... (maybe that’s a Canadian thing...)

I’d appreciate your comments.

Waiting in Tokyo--No fruit here!

This is the first post on my travel to Bali.
Right now, I’m waiting in Tokyo for my flight that will take me to Jakarta and then Bali.
I spent one night here as my connection couldn’t be done on the same day.
It’s great to be in Japan (I’ve never been in Asia before), but now I’m seriously looking forward to arriving in Bali.
I’m stuck without fresh food here, because I ran out yesterday. There’s NO fruit anywhere to be found in this airport. I got a bottle of orange juice... looking forward to see what I can get on the plane.
Otherwise, the long 13-hour flight yesterday went fine. My dad was sitting next to me, as he’s traveling to South-East Asia too, but not to Bali. It wasn’t planned that we were going to be on the same flight! Although we knew that we’d be traveling during that month to Asia.

When I travel, I always bring huge bottles of fruit blended with water. I find it’s the perfect travel food. It gives you food AND water, and it’s easy to digest.

I’ll arrive in Bali at 22:00 (10 p.m.), and then going to the city of Ubud right away (45 minutes North)...

The trip is just starting!
