Australia, America, and other considerations...

Reading all the comments on my "Escape from America" topic, I'd like to make a few things clear.

One is that I'm not "anti-American" and in fact I love America. I lived for almost 3 years in California and loved it.

At this point, I feel like going elsewhere to live, where there is a lower cost of living and a better chance for me to become a permanent resident.

I would not consider an island as a long-term base but I do enjoy island living immensly!

I've considered Australia too but it's really far away... I would love to visit, but at this point considering a move there is pretty far-fetched.

At this point, my considerations are to have a place where my business partner can also come over and possibly move. She has kids and a boyfriend more reluctant to travel far away. So a place like Bali or Australia might be too far.

We also want to eventually (soon!) start doing retreats so the place has to be somewhere where people can easily travel to.

At this point my best choices are Panama and Costa Rica, unless of course some other opportunity comes up, maybe even as a result of exchanging with folks on this blog!

In the meantime, let's dream about some blue oceans...

I assume you know Doug is looking for investors for property in a raw community in Costa Rica? May be too pricey though.

I know Doug Graham has beautiful land in fact I visited myself, it's awesome! But for me although it's amazing place, it's too remote and for my work I need high-speed Internet, good phone connections, etc.

Living in a warm climate would be so ideal. Feeling like your in the Garden of Eden would be the life! O.k. So not exactly like the Garden of Eden, but close. I often dream of what it was like then. Picking fresh fruit off of a tree. Then eating some leaves.
I love Wisconsin, but my dream is my family and I traveling in a motorhome all over the country. My husband being a traveling evangalist. Then he would have to be forced to live raw! Hahaha!

Hi Fred!
I don't know if you are aware or not, but you probably are, that Tanglewood Wellness Center, a fasting retreat, moved to Panama from Maryland about a year ago. Sounds like they are enjoying the warmer weather! I would much rather go on a retreat in a tropical setting than somewhere cold!!!

I second belize, easy to get to from Quebec, cheap land, high speed internet, etc.
